Nardo Wick – Me or Sum Lyrics
[Part I]
[Intro: Future]
Drop your location, she think she me or sum’ (Hendrix)
Put on my chains, now she think she me or sum’
She keep a Glock in her bag, she think …
[Part I]
[Intro: Future]
Drop your location, she think she me or sum’ (Hendrix)

[Verse 1]
You said, “Speak from your mind
The words that it finds
Come out of your soul, a part of the whole”
You said, “What does it change?
Both of us know
After tonight, there …
[TONY]
Maria…
The most beautiful sound I’ve ever heard:
Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria…
All the beautiful sounds of the world in a single word:
Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria…
Maria, Maria…
Maria!
I’ve just met a girl named Maria
And …
[Verse 1]
What happens in dreams where we fly?
Never been as high as tonight
Staring through a window in time
For someone to show me what I’m like
He said, “Hello”, it’s like a …
[Verse 1]
Oh-oh-oh, every little smile hides a little lie
Could cut the silence with a knife
Subatomic bliss is nothing left to miss
It’s just empty Russian roulette
[Pre-Chorus]
Try to brush it off my …
[Hook]
Well you only need the light when it’s burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you’ve been high when you’re feeling low
Only hate the road when you’re missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go
And you let her go… 22
[Verse 1]
Staring at the bottom of your glass
Hoping one day you’ll make a dream last
But dreams come slow and they go so fast 23
You see her when you close your eyes
Maybe one day you’ll understand why
Everything you touch surely dies 24
[Hook]
[Verse 2]
Staring at the ceiling in the dark
Same old empty feeling in your heart 25
Cause love comes slow and it goes so fast
Well you see her when you fall asleep 26
But never to touch and never to keep
Cause you loved her too much and you dived too deep 27
[Hook]
[Bridge]
And you let her go
Oh oh oh no
And you let her go
Oh oh oh no
Well you let her go 28
[Hook]
7Passenger starts the song by highlighting that it is not until one looses something, or something that is useful dwindles that one begins to understand the value of such a thing or person in life. In Passenger’s song it is the loss of a loved girl that makes the person he is singing about realize the blunder of letting the girl that walk out of his life.
Passenger is singing of a person who has lost a loved one taking alcohol to drown their sorrows and remembering dreams about the future that he had harbored of his relationship. He then realizes that those dreams cannot come into fruition with his partner gone. One cannot have dreams of a relationship until they find something of value worth building on but they are easily lost when such a person is no longer present.
Passenger goes through the motions that a person who has lost a loved one goes through, such as seeing them or remembering their memories when they see, hear or smell something. It almost feels as if this person is jinxed as everyone and everything worth keeping is somehow lost to them and yet with time may be he will know where he goes wrong or why they leave.
Passenger talks about sleeplessness, due to thoughts keeping one awake at night on the loss of a love and a yearning or lingering feeling of a hole in the heart that needs to be filled.
He talks of how difficult it is to find someone worth keeping and that when they go, in most cases it is abrupt, especially in this case. With the departure of such a person, one is left with memories that linger, especially when such a person makes an appearance in a dream.
Passenger then sings how hard it is to touch or keep a person when they are so far away in a dream or a fantasy. Especially when one was head over heels in love and was too consumed by that love. It shows that the person did not loose their girl for failure to love her.
These last lines are a sign of regret of letting the loved one get away.

I wonder if anyone has asked the song writer if he meant “and you did let her go” or if he meant “and you do let her go.” The word “let” can refer to the past or to the present. His meaning changes the effect significantly. Everyone seems to have an opinion about what the writer meant, but I can find nothing that indicates a clarification from him.
