[Verse 1]
You said, “Speak from your mind
The words that it finds
Come out of your soul, a part of the whole”
You said, “What does it change?
Both of us know
After tonight, there …
[TONY]
Maria…
The most beautiful sound I’ve ever heard:
Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria…
All the beautiful sounds of the world in a single word:
Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria…
Maria, Maria…
Maria!
I’ve just met a girl named Maria
And …
[Verse 1]
What happens in dreams where we fly?
Never been as high as tonight
Staring through a window in time
For someone to show me what I’m like
He said, “Hello”, it’s like a …
[Verse 1]
Oh-oh-oh, every little smile hides a little lie
Could cut the silence with a knife
Subatomic bliss is nothing left to miss
It’s just empty Russian roulette
[Pre-Chorus]
Try to brush it off my …
Come with me now1
Come with me now
Whoa, come with me now
I’m gonna take you down2
Whoa, come with me now
I’m gonna show you how
Whoa, come with me now
I’m gonna take you down
Whoa, come with me now
I’m gonna show you how
Afraid to lose control
And caught up in this world3
I’ve wasted time, I’ve wasted breath
I think I’ve thought myself to death4
I was born without this fear5
Now only this seems clear:
I need to move, I need to fight6
I need to lose myself7 tonight
Whoa, come with me now
I’m gonna take you down
Whoa, come with me now
I’m gonna show you how
I think with my heart and I move with my head
I open my mouth and it’s something I’ve read8
I stood at this door9 before, I’m told
But a part of me knows that I’m growing too old10
Confused what I thought with something I felt11
Confuse what I feel with something that’s real12
I tried to sell my soul13 last night
Funny, he14 wouldn’t even take a bite
Far away
I heard him15 say (Come with me now)
Don’t delay
I heard him say (Come with me now)
Far away
I heard him say (Come with me now)
Don’t delay
I heard him say (Come with me now)
Whoa, come with me now
I’m gonna take you down
Whoa, come with me now
I’m gonna show you how
Afraid to lose control
And caught up in this world
I’ve wasted time, I’ve wasted breath
I think I’ve thought myself to death
I was born without this fear
Now only this seems clear
I need to move, I need to fight
I need to lose myself tonight
Whoa, come with me now
Whoa, come with me now
I’m gonna take you down
Whoa, come with me now16
Kongos, speaking from the perspective of a man, is inviting one’s evil nature, his dark side, to venture into the future.
The man insists that he is going to fight his evil side to become a better person.
“Afraid to lose control / and caught up in this world” are lyrics that mourn the desire of human beings to accept to status quo, pursuing meaningless things that have little or no value.
In other words, thinking does nothing. Only action changes one’s circumstances, often for the better.
Children are born fearless. If you have ever seen a baby reach for fire or tilt their bodies over the edge of a high ledge, you are aware of this. We are socialized to accept fear, which leads us to poor and fruitless decisions. When our decisions are based on fear, we don’t truly live. We allow our bad side to take over.
The man pledges to war with himself so that he has control over who he is.
That is, the evil side of himself.
In other words, he struggles to bring original ideas or unique contributions into the world.
Standing at a door means coming to a crossroads where a decision must be made.
Often those who grow old are hesitant to embrace change, if not resistant to change entirely.
Human nature is a complicated thing. Often we humans are unaware of our own motivations. We can do something evil without even knowing it.
What is real and what is fake is something that is often difficult to identify. Our “bad selves” can cause us to make unconsciously evil decisions.
Selling ones soul is the process of resolving to do obviously wrong things.
That is, the devil.
That is, the devil – or at least a devilish instinct.
This song “Come With Me Now” by KONGOS is about resisting one’s own evil nature.

No no no. No devil, he isn’t that clever.
This is the human being finally being able to hearing Christ’s Call to Follow Him.
He has already paid for our souls but we must accept Him and go with Him.
The Word of God says 365 times, do not fear. But the cares of this world distract and deafen the Lord’s call. But if we go with Him, our lives will never be the same again, even into eternity where He is preparing for those who choose to come with Him, so that, “Where I am you may be also” Praise God and Amen!
