[Intro: Future]
Drop your location, she think she me or sum’ (Hendrix)
Put on my chains, now she think she me or sum’

[Verse 1]
You said, “Speak from your mind
The words that it finds
Come out of your soul, a part of the whole”
You said, “What does it change?
Both of us know
After tonight, there …
[TONY]
Maria…
The most beautiful sound I’ve ever heard:
Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria…
All the beautiful sounds of the world in a single word:
Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria…
Maria, Maria…
Maria!
I’ve just met a girl named Maria
And …
[Verse 1]
What happens in dreams where we fly?
Never been as high as tonight
Staring through a window in time
For someone to show me what I’m like
He said, “Hello”, it’s like a …
[Verse 1]
Oh-oh-oh, every little smile hides a little lie
Could cut the silence with a knife
Subatomic bliss is nothing left to miss
It’s just empty Russian roulette
[Pre-Chorus]
Try to brush it off my …
Hold on, Holy Ghost
Go on, hold me close
Better run,1 here we come
It’s the day of the dead2
We come from a world of oblivion,3 bad dreams4
I got all I need strapped right to my hamstring5
I’m not really bad, I’m just made up of bad things
I’m really not a mad man, the voices keep asking6
Born with a soul that don’t wanna be saved7
Every time I look around I see what a fiend made
Every time I die, I hope they digging up my grave8
An undead one like the flag that I wave
I’m not afraid to cry from this cocaine sickness9
I’m not afraid to die, let the good book10 witness
I ask and give none, nope, no forgiveness
The day of the dead and you’re on our hit list11
So come all you misfits
Bitch, you’re on our hit list12
Hold on, Holy Ghost
Go on, hold me close
Better run, here we come
It’s the day of the dead
Hold on, Holy Ghost
So long to the ones you know13
Better run, here we come
It’s the day of the dead
This is exactly what has to be done,14 it happened so gradually
It’s like I magically happened to be the phantom that cannot be
Let this dagger cut jaggedly
While you’re gasping so rapidly15
While you gag on this rag
I see you all laughing so happily16
It’s okay to get startled and be afraid of the dark
I’ll just wait here to swallow your soul and tear you apart17
And I’ve already started, there ain’t no saving your heart
This is the day of the dead, this is ain’t no day in the park18
Here I come, here I come, grab your guns and crossbows19
And run, better run from the skull and crossbones
The fun20 has begun, yeah, it’s hard to swallow
When I’m done, I ain’t done, cause it’s hell21 that follows
Now get ready for sorrow,
Cause it’s hell that follows
Hold on, Holy Ghost
Go on, hold me close
Better run, here we come
It’s the day of the dead
Hold on, Holy Ghost
So long to the ones you know
Better run, here we come
It’s the day of the dead
When the ashes22 start to rise
And the moon falls from the sky
And a thousand candles burn into the night
When the angels softly cry
On the flames below the sky23
Would a thousand souls still pray for you and I?24
Hold on, Holy Ghost
Go on, hold me close
Better run, here we come
It’s the day of the dead
Hold on, Holy Ghost
Go on, hold me close
Better run, here we come
It’s the day of the dead
Hold on, Holy Ghost
So long to the ones you know
Better run, here we come
It’s the day of the dead
Hold on, Holy Ghost
It’s the day of the dead
Hold on, Holy Ghost
It’s the day of the dead
Hold on, Holy Ghost
It’s the day of the dead
Hold on, Holy Ghost
It’s the day of the dead25
Hollywood Undead is advising the Holy Ghost to run away, because evil is about to take over.
“It’s the day of the dead” means that today belongs to evil, not to good. Also, by saying “the dead,” Hollywood Undead is referring to themselves. They are quite prideful about their sinister selves.
“Oblivion” is a term used to describe a desolate environment that has experience tragedy.
Bad dreams reinforce the idea of oblivion.
The only things that are strapped to someone’s hamstring are knives, guns, and other semi-concealed weapons, so this lyric has a violent connotation.
The presence of “voices” – that is, fictitious voices heard only in a mad person’s mind – signifies that Hollywood Undead is not being honest about itself. Hollywood Undead is indeed mad, but a person gone mad would never admit such a thing.
Hollywood Undead has no desire for anything good in this life or the next.
Hollywood Undead doesn’t fear death. They embrace it.
Hollywood Undead prides themselves on their destructive drug addictions.
That is, the Bible.
Hollywood Undead injects fear into their listeners, since a “hit list” is a list of people to murder.
They welcome others to join their parade of violence.
More fear is injected into listeners as their loved ones are threatened with death in this lyric.
That is, murdering someone.
“Let this dagger cut jaggedly / While you’re gasping so rapidly” is a lyric describing the gruesome scene of somebody being murdered with a dagger.
In other words, the experience of witnessing someone’s death is the source of others’ pleasure.
Fear is natural, but it doesn’t stop violent people from destroying whoever they want to destroy.
“This ain’t no day in the park” means that today is not happy and full of life. Rather, it is a day for death.
“Grab your guns and crossbows” means that people should fear Hollywood Undead. They pose a threat to others’ well-being, and they are proud of that.
That is, the reign of terror.
That is, continued terror.
That is, the ashes of dead bodies.
Hollywood Undead refers to civilizations being set ablaze when they say “on the flames below the sky.”
This stanza asks whether God, angelic beings, goodness, etc. can succeed in preventing evil from its reign. According to Hollywood Undead, evil is the most powerful thing, and no amount of prayer or goodness can resist evil’s effect.
While there are many themes of violence, death, destruction, fear, etc. in this song, the whole dark persona Hollywood Undead has developed is nothing more than a gimmick that allows them to continue their music careers with a strong fan base.

This song to me depicts the corruption in religion. Where they’re making billions off people truly seeking the Kingdom of God and that’s not how you find it. It doesn’t come in the way of money.
