Fall Out Boy sings about how it feels to be committed to one’s beloved. You just feel like you can do anything. You’re on top of the world.
Fall Out Boy sings from the perspective of a man. This man is resolved to protect his relationship with his beloved at all costs.
Uma Thurman is a famous actress.
This stanza which references a famous actress is relatively meaningless, but it fits Fall Out Boy’s fun, upbeat persona as a band.
Sexual relations is something this man desires with his beloved.
“Put your venom in me” is a euphemism for sexual intercourse. Fall Out Boy insists on a sexual relationship.
The “lamb” is known in historical theology as something which is meant to be sacrifices, so the man is committed to sacrifice anything for his beloved.
“I slept in last night’s clothes and tomorrow’s dreams” means that although sex was thoroughly enjoyed, it wasn’t just a one-night stand.
That is, the dreams.
The man is confident that his relationship is meant to be.
“Gem City” could refer to one of several small cities in the midwest.
While romance is a theme of this song, the song itself is just meant to be fun for listeners. There is no deep message.

#2 is not quite right. “She wants to dance like Uma Thurman” is referencing Pulp Fiction where Uma’s character dances in a drug fueled euphoria.

It’s definitely referring to Kill Bill.
RJ
First of all the name of the band “Fall Out Boy” probably gives the first clue as to “who” these guys really are. Fall out from what? As in radioactive fallout? (Fall out of Heaven as in Lucifer?) [[By far the most famous band to name itself after a Simpsons reference is pop-punk band Fall Out Boy, which took its name from the sidekick of Bart Simpson’s favorite superhero, “Radioactive Man.” The name was apparently suggested by an audience member at one of the band’s early shows]]. The catchy, upbeat Munster’s theme disguises this songs true message. This song mocks Christians. Jesus said to His followers that they could “move mountains” and “work miracles” with faith in Him and who sent Him. There are also references to Uma Thurman whose character in “Kill Bill” was buried alive – but escaped. They feel the need to escape Jesus Christ. This is a song is also about strong sexual feelings implying that having great “sex” in this life now – beats eternity; (while simultaneously advertising the scent – CK Eternity). In other words, never mind what happens to your soul.
The worst blasphemous part of the song is the lyrics “The blood, the blood, the blood of the lamb
Is worth two lions, but here I am”
The blood of the Lamb (the blood of Jesus Christ) is Priceless as it give you salvation from sin and hell – giving you eternal life with God; it enables Anyone to receive God’s free gift thru Christ by simply by accepting it. Revelation 12:11 says: “And they overcame (him) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
– King James Bible ” the (him) this verse is talking about is the Antichrist or Satan – in the flesh – who counterfeits the real Christ.
You’ll find “YOUR” way
And may death find you alive
Take me down the line
In Gem City we turn the tide
Jesus said I am “The Way, the Truth and the Life, No one comes unto the Father – But..By..Me.; but the song subtley suggests that you don’t need Jesus, just find Your own way.
The next line suggests a vampire like, zombie type existance – hence the Munster’s (monters) theme.
The Gem City they refer to is most likely the Emerald City in the occult movie the Wizard if Oz and in the the song they say “We TURN the tide” meaning they turn things around on Christianity as the music and movie/TV industry leaders who most of them worship (Lucifer), now Satan – in one form or another – are “turning the tide” with their False images and False media.
There are so many political leaders, religious leaders, band members, actors and artists claiming to be Christian so that Christians will buy their crap that leads to eternity without God. They LIE and Deceive and are undeniably Wolves in Sheeps clothing.

Wow you just opened my eyes on something I could only SCARCELY imagine. I loved this song but something about the lyrics was making me think something was wrong with the song. At first I just liked the beat and the rhythm and how the words were placed to match, but I never actually LISTENED to the lyrics. After a while I said to myself, “Something’s not right about this song. It sounds like they’re mocking Christianity rather than encouraging it.” I come on here and low and behold you confirm all my suspicions. Thank you so much. I am never listening to Fall Out Boy again. And when you think about it, it could mean they fell out of Heaven like Lucifer.
Nasche
Since when were they encouraging being religious? The genre is mostly built around rebellion against the norm and difficulty fitting in etc. Fall out boy’s lyrics are quite often intricately woven with satire and underlying dark topics disguised by a hippity hoppity pop music beat. If you listen well you realize it’s deeper.
Terri
I had the same thought.

Or how about an outside the box thought ,,, watch the artist in the future he may be the anti christ,,,
The part where it says blood of the lamb, two lions part,,, if u listen without having read the lyrics it “sounds” like he says the blood the blood of the lamb is worked to life now here I am.
Before I read the lyrics that’s what it sounded like to my ears,, now think about it ,, subliminale messages are supposed to be a disguise, so say they wanted to say
What I thought it sounded like, so find lyrics that sound similar so when said fast is what u want to say,, kinda like saying pants six times fast … I do not like the song not it’s intentions.

yes thank you so much for the explanation it makes total sense now after seeing all the lyrics I just pray Lord Jesus that you would open the eyes of the people who wrote this song because I know you love them so much

You are an absolute genius! Thank you for opening my eyes to the true meaning of this song. When I first heard it I liked it because I was only listening to the melody and beat, but now that I know what it means I’m never going to listen to it again.
Again, thanks and you’re awesome 🙂
Ed
I don’t believe the song needs to be interpreted in an anti Christian way. That interpretation requires a lot of negative assumptions that aren’t nessessary. It’s like you start out with the assumption that the singer is an evil anti Christian person and then you look to interpret the lyrics in the most negative, evil, anti Christian way possible when there are other possible interpretations that are more innocent and natural.
I believe the singer is familiar with biblical phrases and is using them to express his feelings, using the gist of the biblical terminology to express certain ideas.
For example ” move mountains, work a miracle” is all about great faith. So he’s using those terms to express great faith in his love and relationship for and with this woman. It goes on to refer to the lasting commitment of a marriage relationship … ” oath”, ie marriage vows, “death do us part”, again a reference to the lasting love and commitment of a marriage relationship.
One must remember that the lyrics are a form of poetry. In that for you don’t spell things out, but take short phrases to convey deep and strong meaning. So I don’t see his use of the biblical phrases as mocking Christianity. But instead using it to covey the core idea of what they are known for which is great faith. And in this context, great faith in his love and commitment to this woman which is consistent with the next two line referring to an oath and words from a traditional marriage vow.
The uma Thurman verse reminds me of the Song of Solomon. Basically he’s saying this woman is beautiful and exciting and he has to admit that she turns him on and he can’t get her out of his mind. It’s a praise of her beauty and attractiveness much like in the Song of Solomon.
In that same vein of Song of Solomon , “stench of summer sex, ck eternity” = smell, scent of passionate erotic love, a celebration and praise of it. Have you ever read Song of Solomon? “Down to the smallest I can be”, his core being, the essence of who he is, is united to her in their sexual intimacy. The 2 shall become one flesh. “Put you venom in me” in other words it’s like he’s totally consumed by her love potion when they are together.
I think the verse about sleeping in his clothes is a reference to falling to temptation and having gone astray from the one he loves and realizing that it wasn’t worth it, “not what it seems”
The blood of the lamb cleanses us from every sin. Offers us forgiveness and redemption. “But here I am”. He’s waiting for her to forgive him and he desires to be restored to his relationship with his beloved.
“You’ll find your way and may death find you alive” – find your way back after being devastated by his one night stand. May The death of her trust, feelings, their relationship caused by his fall, still find her alive enough to come back and recover from it.
“Take me down the line” – a reference to walking down the aisle in a church to get married.
“In gem city we turned the tide” – gem city could be the diamond of an engagement ring or the emerald city in the wizard of oz where Dorothy finds her way back home to loving relationships. They “turned the tide” – they recovered from their broken relationship. They made up, she forgave, their relationship is restored.
He made an actual commitment to her and got married and now it’s for real “may nothing but death do us part”

Ed is so obviously lost and confused. Pray to Jesus about it Ed, see what He says.

Ed, you have got to be kidding. You are one of those people that know just a little, so that it makes you dangerous. EVERYBODY knows what the blood of the Lamb represents. Then combine that with “an oath” verbiage typically used in Satanic clubs. Maybe a coven song, “May death find you alive,” doesn’t strike you as odd for a lover to tell his lover? And then end with the Munsters song. Those things combined alone, with minimal interpretation, smacks with blasphemy. But of course you wouldn’t know what that was.
Ash
Ok ed, breathe, i agree with you on many things. You’re not the only one thinking that if you look for a devil behind every door, yourey going to find it. In the same way, if you listen to music and try to find some deceptive conniconn lyric, you are going to see things that aren’t there. ALTHOUGH, i think this song can be interpreted any way you want. If these people disagree with you, that is their right. But whatever. I like that you look at it unbiasedly.

I feel like what are said was perfectly reasoneable. I don’t necessarily believe this song is anti-Christ or anything like that. It’s just a fun song that talks about the crazy love between two people.
Though it IS possible that others could be correct, you’ll never really know for sure. But you can’t really shut anyone down because you’ll never know if YOU’RE even right.

Consider that THE LEAD GUITARIST IS CATHOLIC I think this is a very valid argument. Like he said, if you go looking for evil, guess what you’ll find?

I never listen to the radio anymore. Somebody borrowed my car and this song was playing. I immediately looked it up. I thought exactly what you said. God bless you for taking the time and having the guts to tell the truth. The entertainment industry is a corrupt satanic entity. The whole world is being deceived and we are seeing the end of days prophecies come true. Wake up….the whole world hates and mocks Christ. Not Buddha not Allah but Christ. Why ? Because Satan rules this world. God is real. Please find him now. Time is short. You Tube Nicholson 68. Don’t trust hypocrite religious cults. Get a King James Bible and read the words of Christ. Ask him for salvation. Jesus Saves sin enslaves. I know. Been there but now I’m free.
Horace
FOB participates in a scandal involving the CIA and jesus. Jesus is here and the CIA is watching and controlling him with mind control. The CIA talks to the entertainment people to keep them up to date while jesus is judged. Jesus is married but the queen is not on earth. The CIA terrorizes Jesus while they judge him because they thought he could be the devil. They know that the bible says Jesus will fly, but here he is born on earth.

I had bad feeling listening to that song. I now know why. Than you for that.

The bands name doesn’t have any significance. Fall Out Boy is a character from the Simpsons When the band gave their first performance they realized they didn’t have a name and asked the audience for ideas and that’s what stuck. Do your research.
Kristen
The part about Uma Thurman you’re calling meaningless is actually very clearly referring bed dancing and pulp fiction then burying the man in to Kill Bill….
Cari
I’m a Christian myself, but I somehow doubt this is any more antichristian than any other mainstream pop song. “The blood of the lamb” reference would be an obvious biblical reference, but as another commenter pointed out, Fall Out Boy’s lyrics are usually deeper in meaning than the obvious interpretation. My guess (because that’s what all of this is, since we didn’t write the song ourselves), is that the “lamb” refers to a good/nice girl that he SHOULD be with, and “lions” is a reference to bad girls. So, he’s with a bad girl even though he knows he shouldn’t be. That seems to be what the whole song is about to me, him being infatuated with (or addicted to) a bad girl who is bad for him. But she makes him FEEL like he can move mountains and work miracles. And yes, dancing like Uma Thurman, is most definitely a Pulp Fiction reference, which is congruent with using The Munsters theme song. “Bury me till I confess”, in all honesty, I think is a reference to oral sex but I’m no going to get detailed about it, if you can’t figure it out then … good, lol.
Compute
No, Cari, sadly I don’t think you are. Everybody says they are, and then they know nothing about “their faith.” The way you know a person is a Christian (Jesus called them disciples) is that they love the Lord, they want Him to be exalted. And even though they are not perfect, they sin sometimes, they get back up, are sorry, and they grow, and become more like Him everyday. But they love Him. They are not asking “how close can I get to the edge and still call myself a Christian.” No Christians don’t ask that, because they are to busy asking, “How can I be more like Christ.” And Christ didn’t go around blaspheming His father. If you want to stay in your make believe world and ignore the obvious reference of “blood of the Lamb” that maybe it might be something cute and nice, and open to interpretation, then I don’t see a love for Christ there. Just don’t.
Lauren
You’re right in a way, but do you really have a right to tell that person they’re not really a Christian? I’m just saying you don’t know their life story or if they’ve given their life to God.

“Gem city” is referring to the New Jerusalem in Revelation 21:19 “The foundations of the city wall were decorated with all kinds of gems: The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald…” New Jerusalem is the final residing place of the Bride of Christ (aka: the church) after this world is destroyed and God creates a new one. The bible says that “nothing unclean will ever enter it” (Rev 22:27) but this song speaks of entering into the city and “turning the tide” — Basically violating/defiling the purified Bride of Christ. Pure apostacy.
RJ
Yes, Gem City is a nickname to Quincy Illinois. So? Double (hidden) meanings run easily through occult songs because of the spirit(s) they originate from. The Wizard of Oz is in Emerald City. Emerald City is an occult counterfeit view of the new city of Jerusalem mentioned in the Book of Revelation 21:2 that is loaded with gems: “2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. . . . 18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. 19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. 21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. 22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.” Even if this band tells you one interptetation, I highly doubt you will ever hear them reveal to you their real interpretation.
RJ
I agree.

I agree with others, this song was bothering me every time I heard it but I couldn’t make out the lyrics. RJ is spot on, and now, after reading the lyrics, I know why I felt this way.

Without any hesitation, there are a few odd vibes orbiting this song.
Still yes myself, I can’t get enough of this song. I love Everything from point A down to the last point of Z. The beat, how in sync they all are, the way its song. The flow and rhythm is incredibly great, and plays out to sound AMAZING!
BUT I personally have felt and continue to feel a Dept of fowl, or sinister hidden meaning, or maybe it’s just a awkward vibe that Satan is tossing out to everyone who enjoys it, and is attempting to gain our attention by us focusing on how well performed in so many ways, this song is.
It’s too good to be … Well this good, and like I said, I without a single search have had strange feelings or vibes during and after me listening to this song.
I am yes indeed a child of God, I am a Christian.
I do though love rock n.roll and of course its grandchild, ” alternative ” music.
I must add to my final sentence this, I have never heard song that has ever given me a odd vibe, and caused curiosity of or to its meaning within the lyrics.
So I ask and challenge “FALL OUT BOY “, …. IF THERE BE A MORE GREATER MEANING OF THIS SONG , THAT RESULTS IN any SATANIC OR SINISTER HIDDEN MEANING, TO MAN UP AND AND ADMIT TO THE ENTIRE WORLD , MUCH LESS TO YOUR VERY OWN FOLLOWING FANS THAT YOUR HEARTS REMAIN AS DAMNED BLACKENED PITS LEADING THE WAY TO HELL.

LISA marie, No one is judging this band or you; I think the song is hard not to like as far as the energy and arrangement – unless you wish to know the truth…it’s just some of our interpretations…if you want to know the true meaning, it will depend on which Spirit or spirit(s) are guiding you. PS: Did you know that Lucifer was one of the highest ranking angels that covered God’s throne with his wings and was in charge of the music (ministry) for leading the worship of God in Heaven? Ezekiel 28:13 – Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: THE WORKMANSHIP OF THY TIMBRELS AND OF THY PIPES WAS PREPARED IN THE DAY THAT THOU WAST CREATED.
(God created Lucifer and created his timbrels, pipes, and harps in another verse. 14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

Fall out boy is singing about a government project concerning Jesus Christ. This song is not about a devil.

FOB is clueless as are all the other illuminati sympathizers like Katy Perry. They are puppets.

Thought first time i heard this song they was mocking Jesus and still believe that. The blood of the lamb is _Jesus dying for us and our sins. Everyone has a blind eye to see what going on with the entertainment industry today and the world. Repent of your sins and ask Jesus into your heart. Much love to you all

I think it is more reasonable to not listen to this song because it’s a terrible song than any perceived slight against religion.

Although I hate to say this Devil Worshiping Idea is true, a lot of our society is now turning against religion. They also say religious people are always at fault and criticize the most, when a lot of the time a lot of whats going around right now is pointed at religious or Christian views. Another lyric I noticed that might point toward the devil, is put your v v venom in me, the devil in Genesis was represented as a snake.
